Article title
I propose moving this to Space 114 Standoff. The current title implies that the incident was the fault of, or otherwise about, the store, when the article itself makes clear that the store's staff mostly brought chairs. The local sources overwhelmingly call it "the Space 114 thing". BoldButCautious (talk) 13:08, 14 August 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose. The current title is the common name in national coverage; "Space 114" means nothing to a reader outside western Iowa. The redirect already exists. Reginald Footnote (talk) 14:22, 14 August 2026 (UTC)
- Weak oppose. Agree with Reginald Footnote, although I note "the Space 114 thing" would be an unusual article title in any case. Quillfeather (talk) 16:00, 14 August 2026 (UTC)
- I did not propose "the Space 114 thing" as a title. BoldButCautious (talk) 16:31, 14 August 2026 (UTC)
- Closing as not moved. Margaret Ledger-Pike (talk) 09:00, 22 August 2026 (UTC)

0.4 seconds
The article states that the vehicles arrived within 0.4 seconds of each other according to the township's review of the security footage. The Midweek Clarion piece gives 0.6 seconds. Which is it? This matters, because Raeburn has said in roughly 300 interviews that he arrived first. CitationGoblin (talk) 20:47, 30 August 2026 (UTC)
- The township report is the primary source and was produced with the footage. The Clarion figure appears to be a misreading. I would keep 0.4. TheTepidTruth (talk) 21:15, 30 August 2026 (UTC)
- Neither figure tells us who was first, which is the point. The article should not say who was first. It currently does not. Please let us keep it that way. Margaret Ledger-Pike (talk) 22:02, 30 August 2026 (UTC)
- I want to be clear that I have no view on who was first. CitationGoblin (talk) 22:10, 30 August 2026 (UTC)
- Your edit summary on 28 August said "Buck had his blinker on". TheTepidTruth (talk) 22:14, 30 August 2026 (UTC)

Courtesy Contest record
The Legacy section gives the Courtesy Contest record as 3 hours 51 minutes, set in 2022. The 2026 festival took place in June. Was the record broken? I cannot find coverage. ArchivistOfNonsense (talk) 11:36, 9 October 2026 (UTC)
- According to the festival's own program, the 2026 final ended after 2 hours 10 minutes when both contestants simultaneously yielded the title to each other and the judges could not determine a winner. So the 2022 record stands, but I am not sure how to word that without original research. Quillfeather (talk) 13:04, 9 October 2026 (UTC)
- Leave it as it is until a newspaper covers it. The Plain Dealer-Register usually runs its festival piece in late June; it may be delayed. Reginald Footnote (talk) 15:48, 9 October 2026 (UTC)
